Getting started

Your first itinerary

Build a three-day safari and send a proposal in 20 minutes.

This walkthrough builds a fictional three-day Serengeti safari for two adults. By the end you'll have a live proposal URL you can send to a client.

1. Add a few accommodations

From the sidebar, open Content Library then Accommodations.

Click Add accommodation and create three lodges. For each, fill in:

  • Name, location (park or region), star rating.
  • A short description, one to two paragraphs.
  • One or two photos. Image URLs from your own site work; or upload directly.
  • Available room types, for example "Twin", "Double", "Triple".

You can come back later and enrich the entries. For now, three is enough to build a trip.

See the full Accommodations guide for advanced fields.

2. Add accommodation rates

Open Rate Cards then Accommodation Rates.

For each lodge, click Add rate and enter the per-pax-per-night rate for at least one season and one room type. If you only have one rate sheet, use the default "All year" season.

If you don't have rate sheets, enter 100 as a placeholder. You can update later without rebuilding any itineraries.

See Accommodation rates for season bands, meal plans, and per-room vs per-person basis.

3. Add a vehicle and a park fee

Open Rate Cards then Vehicles. Add one vehicle, for example "Toyota Land Cruiser, 6-seat". Enter a daily rate.

Open Park Fees. Add the parks you're visiting, with the non-resident adult rate. The wizard may have pre-loaded these.

4. Build the itinerary

From the sidebar, open Itineraries, then New Itinerary.

  • Name the trip, for example "Smith Family Serengeti 3D2N".
  • Pick the start date, number of adults (2), children (0).
  • Click Create.

You'll land on the day-by-day builder. For each of the three days:

  1. Click Add accommodation and pick a lodge.
  2. Optionally add Activities (game drive, balloon, transfer).
  3. The vehicle and park fees auto-populate based on the day's region.

See Building an itinerary for the full feature set.

5. Review pricing

Click the Pricing tab. Ratiba will show:

  • Supplier cost per day and total.
  • Default markup applied.
  • Selling price per person and total.
  • Margin in absolute and percent terms.

You can override markup on any line, exclude a line from selling price (for complimentary items), or add a fixed-fee adjustment.

See Pricing an itinerary for advanced controls.

6. Send the proposal

Click Preview then Share.

You'll get a public link. Send it to your client. They can:

  • Read the day-by-day itinerary in the browser.
  • See lodge photos and descriptions.
  • See a single, clear total price.
  • Comment, ask questions, or click Accept to confirm.

You'll get a notification in Ratiba the moment they open the link.

See Proposals for branding, themes, and PDF export.
