Building an itinerary
Day-by-day construction, the activity modal, the AI assistant.
The builder layout
When you open an itinerary, you see four tabs:
- Day-by-day. The main editor. A table of days, one row per day.
- Pricing. The cost breakdown and selling price.
- Preview. The proposal as the client will see it.
- Share. Publishing controls.
Creating days
Days are created automatically based on the trip's duration. If you change the duration (in trip settings), rows are added or removed.
To rearrange days, drag the row's left handle. The dates re-compute as days move.
Editing a day
Click any cell in a day row to edit inline. Or click the row to open the full day editor with these sections:
- Title and description. What clients see at the top of the day card. ("Day 3: Serengeti game drive")
- Region or park. Drives default park fees. Pick from your park list or type a free-form region.
- Accommodation. Search and pick from your accommodations library. The room type and meal plan dropdowns are populated based on what the accommodation supports.
- Activities. Add one or more. See the activity modal below.
- Vehicle. Picks the day's vehicle. Defaults to the trip's primary vehicle.
- Transfer. Optional. Add a from-to transfer for the day.
- Custom day cost. Optional. A fixed amount for things not covered by rate cards.
- Internal notes. Hidden from clients. Visible to your team.
The activity modal
Clicking Add activity opens a searchable modal listing all activities from your library, filtered by the day's region by default.
- Type to search by name.
- Toggle the region filter off to see all activities.
- Pick one or more. Selected activities show as chips below the search.
- Click Add to add them to the day.
Each activity carries its rate (from the activity rate card) into the pricing tab automatically.
AI assistant
The AI assistant lives in the bottom-right of the builder. Type a brief:
"7 day classic Tanzania, 2 adults, mid-range lodges, fly between parks, departing June 15"
The assistant proposes a draft itinerary using your library content and current rate cards. It picks accommodations that match the style (mid-range), routes through likely parks (Tarangire, Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro), and uses your stored vehicle and transfer rules.
You can:
- Accept the draft and edit from there.
- Regenerate with a different style or different lodges.
- Reject and start blank.
The assistant only suggests content that exists in your library and rate cards. It will not invent lodges you haven't loaded.
Drag-and-drop content
In the day editor, you can drag accommodations and activities from a side panel directly into a day. Useful when you're rapidly iterating on a trip.
Saving
Every edit auto-saves. There's no "save" button. If two team members edit the same trip at the same time, see Collaboration.
Duplicating a day
Right-click any day row and choose Duplicate. Useful for back-to-back nights at the same lodge.
