Vehicles

Safari vehicle daily rates, fuel, and driver-guide assumptions.

Vehicles in Ratiba represent the rolling stock you bill to clients: 4x4 Land Cruisers, minivans, transfer cars, light aircraft (for the few operators who own them).

Vehicle entries

Each vehicle has:

  • Name. "Toyota Land Cruiser, 6-seat", "Toyota Hiace minibus, 9-seat", "Transfer sedan".
  • Capacity. Max pax.
  • Pricing basis.
    • Per day. Flat daily rate.
    • Per kilometer. Multiplied by the day's distance (you enter distance in the itinerary day editor).
    • Per day + per km. Both, summed.
  • Rate. Day rate, km rate, or both.
  • Currency.
  • Fuel included (yes/no). Cosmetic flag, doesn't change pricing but appears in the proposal inclusions list.
  • Driver-guide included (yes/no). Same.

Picking a vehicle on the itinerary

When you set up a day, you pick a vehicle. Ratiba uses the same vehicle for the rest of the trip by default. Override per day if you swap vehicles for a transfer day.

Capacity enforcement

If you place more pax in a vehicle than its capacity, Ratiba warns but doesn't block. Some operators routinely overload for short transfers — your judgment, your liability.

Multi-vehicle trips

If you need two vehicles for one day (a large group), use the Additional vehicle option on the day editor. The second vehicle line is independent.

Aircraft and transfers

Light aircraft (for charter flights) can be modeled as vehicles with a high day rate. Or treat them as transfers — see Transfers.

We'll add a dedicated aircraft module if enough operators ask for it.
